Cannabis retail promotion approval checklist

Marketing Operations

A promotion checklist helps a dispensary move quickly without making unsupported claims or promising an offer that operations cannot fulfill.
Capture the offer owner, eligible products or customers, dates, locations, exclusions, inventory assumptions, and approval deadline. Link the request to the source policy and the approved inventory view. The dispensary social approval checklist covers the content handoff after the offer is approved. Pair it with the Google posting calendar for scheduled publication ownership.
Ask whether the POS can apply the rule, staff can explain it, and the store can monitor exceptions. Confirm that the promotion does not depend on an unverified inventory promise. Route unclear tax, age, advertising, or jurisdiction questions to the authorized reviewer.
Use plain terms for eligibility, timing, exclusions, and how a customer can ask a question. Avoid health, savings, scarcity, or outcome claims that the source record does not support. Keep public copy separate from internal implementation notes.
Store the final copy, source offer, approver, timestamp, and change history together. The FTC advertising guidance is a useful baseline for truthful, supportable advertising; local rules and counsel may impose additional requirements.
After the promotion ends, compare expected and actual exceptions, customer questions, and inventory impact. Record what should change next time without fabricating performance metrics.
