Cannabis dispensary privacy request workflow

Privacy requests need a controlled intake because the requester, data scope, deadline, and legal requirements may not be obvious from the first message.
Record the received time, channel, request wording, permitted customer reference, and assigned owner. Do not paste sensitive records into general chat. The dispensary data access review provides a useful access-control companion. Route service complaints through the customer complaint workflow without mixing the records.
Use the approved identity and authority process. Define the systems, date range, record types, and exclusions in writing. If verification fails or the request is ambiguous, pause disclosure and escalate to the authorized reviewer.
Keep an immutable copy or reference to the original request and record each search, decision, and handoff. Separate the working index from the records themselves.
Do not promise a result or deadline before the responsible reviewer confirms the rule that applies. The FTC privacy and security guidance is a useful general reference, not a substitute for applicable law or counsel.
Record the final response, approver, date, scope, and any follow-up retention instruction. Review completed requests for accidental over-disclosure or missing approval evidence.
