Scheduling handoff is more than publishing a roster. The incoming lead needs to know who is present, which roles are covered, what exceptions exist, and who may approve a change.
Record date, location, shift lead, role coverage, break coverage, known absences, contact path, open tasks, and escalation owner. The opening and closing coverage plan adds start and end controls. Use the training records workflow before assigning restricted duties.
Do not publish private employee details beyond what the team needs. Store sensitive HR information in its approved system.
The U.S. Department of Labor workplace resources provide general context; local rules and policy control scheduling decisions.
Record the gap, notify the authorized manager, and follow the written contingency. Do not silently assign a role outside the person’s training or authority.
