Incident Administration
Published October 12, 2026. Transfer verified incident facts to the right safety, security, privacy, compliance, or management owner without speculation.
Follow the organization’s emergency and on-site safety procedures first. Administrative support should not delay urgent action to complete a form. Once safe to do so, record the notification received, time, location, reporter, and immediate route.
Document what was observed or reported, the source, and any preserved evidence. Label unknowns. Do not diagnose, assign blame, alter witness language, or decide reportability. Those judgments belong to authorized leaders and qualified specialists.
Map incident types to primary and backup owners, contact channels, acknowledgement targets, and after-hours paths. Consider safety, security, privacy, workplace, customer, vendor, technology, and regulatory implications without placing unnecessary sensitive detail in broad alerts.
Store photographs, video references, system logs, messages, and witness notes in approved locations with access controls. Record collection time and custodian. Do not edit original evidence or copy it into uncontrolled collaboration tools.
The receiver acknowledges ownership, required next action, and follow-up time. The handoff record closes when responsibility is explicit - not when a message is merely sent. Review late acknowledgements and missing evidence through the incident program.
