DispensaryVA provides administrative support only. Licensed operators, authorized managers, and qualified professionals retain all regulatory, product, clinical, financial, and legal decisions.

A continuity plan is a set of decisions made before the busy day. It should help a manager protect people, preserve records, communicate clearly, and resume normal work in an approved way.

Name the first decisions

List who can pause operations, who contacts staff, who manages customer communication, and who handles system or compliance questions. Put backup owners beside each role. The plan should not depend on one person's memory or private phone.

Write the first-hour actions

For a system outage, staffing gap, facility issue, or vendor failure, record the first safe action, information to capture, and owner to notify. Do not create a workaround that bypasses an approved control. If the team cannot confirm the right process, pause and escalate.

Protect the record trail

Use the approved fallback record and label each entry with time, location, employee, and source. Once normal systems return, reconcile the fallback record under the authorized review process. Keep the original notes because they explain what happened.

Test the plan

Run a short tabletop exercise each quarter. Ask where the contact list, fallback form, vendor details, and escalation rules live. Record gaps and assign fixes. A plan that has never been opened is a draft, no matter how polished it looks.

DispensaryVA helps maintain continuity documents and recurring readiness checks. See operations support or contact us.
